“I like the idea that in any kind of work of art, you can capture the instantaneousness of an emotion and reconstitute it in its raw state in the eyes of the other, sublimate the imaginary and explore what the artist has transformed through his or her work.
Biography
Born in Paris in 1966, Richard Orlinski is a French painter and sculptor. He explores sculpture in using industrial materials with references of pop culture. His predilection’s materials are resin and aluminium. He made a name for himself notably through his work entitled BORN WILD, a sculpture representing a crocodile declined in several materials and colours
Born into a family of art lovers, he discovered the Pop Art movement quite young, and took a passionate interest in the work of artists as diverse as Warhol, Lichtenstein, Rosenquist, César, Erro and several others who provided the source of inspiration for his future work. Exhibitions, Gallery Openings, Encounters with some of his idols such as Jean Pierre Rayaud, Richard Orlinski is immersing himself more and more in what he calls “the compost of our reality”.
After studying art at the Ecole d’Art Plastique de Neuilly sur Seine, he discovered a new generation of artists such as Jeff Koons, Richard Prince or Takashi Murakami, free and without complex, with whom he can identify through creation.
Developping his art free of any convention, Richard Orlinski emphazises to produce an art of his time. Either the technique (fonderie) or the material (resin), Richard Orlinski is one these rare artistes who developped a concept mixing industrial materials and social concerns while referring to cultural democratisation. In such, he offers within our consumption society an original and creative works of art in keeping in mind how to be accessible and appreciated emongst folk , which bring a freeshly breath in the contemporary art realm.
From domestic, decoratif or monumental objects, Richard Orlinski succeeded in imposing a style among the artistic folk, by its creativity but also in keeping an homogeneity of creation as a wish of being exccessible and understandable amongst the largest part of the popumation in order to open people to what contemporary art is and what is its essence.

A CONCEPT
Richard Orlinski developed his sculptural work through a concept called Born Wild. At its origins, a crocodile’s tale:
Our drives are influenced by the most primitive part of our brains: the reptilian. Amongst other drives, the reptilian brain rules not only our survival instincts and behaviours, but also our control of reproductive space. It acts in the present, consulting neither past, nor experience, nor memory. What could represent this organ – the common heritage of our two species – better than the crocodile, which has managed to adapt itself and survive at any cost?

DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONCEPT
Firstly making sculptures of crocodiles playing iwith their size or colors, Richard Orlinski developes later several objects that can be assimilated to the same concept.
JAWS

CANS
In regards to street art , Richard Orlinski used cans to exhibit a kind of Born Wild slogan. One of its works the most understandable amongst non contemporary art lovers.
SKULL
The human skull, a box of bones destined to protect the brain, has never ceased to evolve over the past millions of years. Evolution or decline, Man is overtaken by time. Deformed by speed – an extension of the parietal and disappearance of the mandible – a skull shown in the midst of the disintegration process. Man prey to dehumanisation.
DAVID
Michelangelo’s famous David revisited “New-millennium” style. Dressed in jeans, his nudity is hidden. A musculature exacerbated by its poly-mirror finish. A trash attitude denoted by the unbuttoned jeans and D&G underwear. A temporal value and universal dimension of David that reflects its time by redressing attributes.
AN INSTALLATION PLAY WITH A GIANT REPTILE
Richard Orlinksi’s “BORN WILD MONUMENTAL” installation features a 650kg, 5m long giant crocodile at the heart of the banking area in Paris. It’s a piece of pop art that pedestrians won’t be able to ignore. BORN WILD MONUMENTAL is sculpted in red polyurea and displayed on the square in front of the Galerie Bel-Art Fine Art. The savage grace of this pop art work gives off an impression of brutal spontaneity; it is the reflection of the drives, of the archaic and instantaneous feelings that make man so unpredictable, and even sometimes dangerous. Richard Orlinski’s works of art are exhibited in private collections all over the world, as well as at major art galleries and contemporary art fairs.

Richard Orlinksi is a painter and sculptor whose work has been exhibited in the most prestigious galleries in Paris, Honfleur, Grenoble, Saint Tropez, Geneva, London and Miami. Born Wild, one of his works, was particularly successful and has been seen at FIAC, Art Paris, Start Strasbourg, Pulse New York and at the Cannes Film Festival and mentioned in various articles in the press.
